Fiona McGovern

Fiona McGovern is a research associate at the collaborative research center “Aesthetic Experience and the Dissolution of Artistic Limits” at the Freie Universität in Berlin, a freelance writer and lecturer. She recently finished her Ph.D. on the rhetoric of display in the work of Joseph Beuys, Martin Kippenberger, Mike Kelley and Manfred Pernice, and is currently preparing her post-doctoral research project on the intersection of art and music since the 1960s. She has taught at Freie Universität Berlin, Merz Akademie Stuttgart and Universität der Künste, Berlin. In 2012, she was the co-curator of studio reihe musik, a series of events consisting of DJ-sets by RVDS, Andreas Reihse and Frauke Boggasch, a screening of the documentary “Her Noise” and a performance by XX Macarena (Jutta Koether and John Miller) at the project space Studio, Berlin. Her articles and reviews have appeared in Texte zur Kunst, frieze d/e, and springerin, among other publications.
