Steven Warwick

Steven Warwick is a British artist and musician based in Berlin. His work is multidisciplinary, combining objects and media to interrelate and create an immersive environment. He has collaborated with artists such as Henrik Olesen, Jean-Michel Wicker, Josephine Pryde, Sabine Reitmaier and Richard Hawkins, was resident at Batroun projects, Lebanon and will be artist in residence at Villa Aurora, Los Angeles 2015. His xeroxed artist books have a deceptively throwaway appearance. The recent "Steven Warwick Interiors" a mock in-flight manual for reprogramming oneself, featured repurposed comic strip grids of the interior of a schoolboy's head, and fashion & art advertisements from the WSJ superimposed over a fan letter review of his EP written under the influence of ketamine. With Heatsick, music is created in real time, based upon loops that are moulded, stretched and reduced to interlink, merging with one another; live dance music that expands and unlocks the senses, often stretched beyond three hours and augmented by elements of his broader art practice for his Extended Play performance series, favourably received at venues including Berghain, Unsound and MoMa.
