Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde Seeks Interns

Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde in Dubai is seeking a Gallery and Curatorial Intern and a Gallery Photography Intern.

The Gallery and Curatorial Intern will work with the director to research and maintain files for artists and upcoming exhibitions, as well as to maintain a dynamic web presence. Candidates should have a strong interest or background in the Middle East and Middle Eastern cinema and arts, as well as experience working with desktop publishing and e-mail applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Publisher.

The Gallery Photography Intern will photograph artworks and exhibition views on an ongoing basis, maintain and update the digital image library and Art Butler database, as well as ensure all images are high quality and print-and-web-ready. Candidates should have proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Digital Assess Management software and possess the ability to operate scanning equipment, medium format camera, 35mm DSLR and other imaging equipment as needed

The Museum Louis Vuitton Foundation for Creation: Curator

The Museum Louis Vuitton Foundation for Creation, is seeking to appoint a curator, reporting to the Artistic Director, to assist in the development of the Foundation’s Collection and Exhibitions Programme within the ground-breaking Frank Gehry building which is being constructed within the Jardin d’Acclimitation in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. Cimatheque - Alternative Film Centre seeks Programme Coordinator

Cimatheque is a multi purpose space dedicated to celebrating film and supporting the needs of independent filmmakers in Egypt. It is comprised of a fully equipped screening hall, a film and book library, an analogue hand-processing laboratory, two multi-purpose spaces and a cafeteria.

Cimatheque - Alternative Film Centre: Programme Coordinator

Cimatheque's team is looking for a Programme Coordinator to collaborate in the design and implementation of activities dedicated to support the culture and community of alternative cinema in Egypt, and to make it accessible to a wider audience.

Key Functions:
- Conceive and develop activities and projects for Cimatheque, in collaboration with the rest of the team.
- Plan activities and follow up in their implementation.

V&A Ceramics Residency

The V&A is inviting applications from UK-based studio ceramicists who wish to develop their practice in designing and making ceramics through working with the V&A’s collections and through public engagement activities.

The Residency will be based in a purpose-built studio in the Ceramics galleries, at the V&A in London. This is part of an exciting new programme of residencies specifically situated in the Ceramics galleries. This Residency will take place over a six-month period from October 2013 –March 2014 in London.

University College London (UCL), Doha: Teaching Fellow in Museums, Heritage, and Archeology

UCL Qatar wishes to appoint a full time Teaching Fellow at its campus in Doha to deliver teaching and training in the Continuing Professional Development programme of short courses for museum professionals, and to contribute more generally to the Masters programmes taught at UCL Qatar, including co-ordinating the placement of students as part of their studies.

The post holder will also contribute to UCL Qatar's public engagement programme, and will be expected to work with colleagues at Qatar Museums Authority, one of UCL Qatar's main stakeholders. Most of the CPD teaching will take place at QMA's premises, and a good practical background in museum studies is required.  
Candidates should ideally have a wide range of experience across the cultural heritage sector, particularly museum and gallery practice.  The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate familiarity with the recent museum and heritage developments in the Gulf region and/or wider Middle East/Islamic world.

The Visual Cultures Programme in the Department of the Arts at The American University (AUC) in Cairo is now seeking applications for their 2013-2014 Arts Professor in Residence Programme.

Description:

The Visual Cultures Programme in the Department of the Arts at The American University (AUC) in Cairo is seeking applications from both emerging and established artists/designers and filmmakers for its 2013–2014 Professor in Residence programme. Awarding two residencies per academic year, the programme offers Visiting Professor artists/designers and filmmakers the opportunity to teach two courses in a cross-disciplinary environment across the three majors of the new Visual Cultures Programme at AUC: Visual Arts, Film, and Graphic Design. Visiting Professors receive an honorarium for sixteen weeks in residence. There is flexibility in how the time in residence will be apportioned.

Founded in 1919, AUC moved to a new 270-acre state-of-the-art campus in New Cairo in 2008. The University also operates in its historic downtown facilities, offering cultural events, graduate classes, and continuing education. Student housing is available in both downtown Zamalek and New Cairo.

Requirements:

Required qualifications include an MFA in Graphic Design, Film and Fine Arts (or equivalent), preferably with a significant professional experience in the field of Visual Arts Graphic Design and Film.
