Founded in 2003, ArteEast is a groundbreaking New York-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and presenting the arts of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and its diaspora to a global audience. From an initial focus on the cinema arts, ArteEast has expanded its mandate to include the contemporary literary, visual and performance arts and serves diverse audiences from artists and arts professionals, to collectors, educators, and the general public. ArteEast is a multiplatform forum that gives the MENA arts community access to audiences around the world by complementing extensive online programming on a resource-rich website with on-site public programs from artist talks, and film screenings, to exhibitions.   Through this mission and strategy, ArteEast is able to promote artistic excellence while fostering dialogue around the region’s arts and culture and giving new audiences a nuanced perspective on the regional context.
