Empire II at the Pavilion, DubaiJuly 4, 20117:30 p.m. The Pavilion Downtown Dubai Emaar Boulevard, Downtown Dubai The Pavilion Downtown Dubai presents the film "Empire II" in collaboration with Brusselssprout, a complimentary curatorial magazine on contemporary thinking and emergent art. "Empire II" is the sequel to Andy Warhol's silent black and white film "Empire" which was shot in July 1964. The film's only narrative is the passage from daylight to darkness. "Empire II" is the continuation of Warhol's work, but documenting the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, shot on July 27th, 2010 from 6:35 p.m. - 12:02 p.m. Brusselssprout editor-in-chief Ignacio Gomez and filmmaker Camille Mallat will introduce "Empire II" at the screening on July 4 at 7:30 p.m. The film will continue to be screened throughout the month of July. |
