Maria Jose Arjona

(b. 1973, Bogotá, Colombia) lives and works between the United States and Colombia. She earned a degree in fine arts from Bogotá's ESAP. Arjona’s artistic career focused on long durational practices addressing process, memory and power. She participated as a re-performer at Marina Abramovic's retrospective at New York's MOMA. Arjona has been showcased at the Croatia Biennial (2012), Marrakech Biennial (2012), Irregular Hexagon (2013) and DOIT 2013, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist (UK). Solo exhibitions include But I am the Tiger curated by Eugenio Viola at Mor-Charpentier in Bogota and Agent-Encoding-Flow at Prometeo Gallery / Ida Pisani. The artist was invited by Jose Roca to develop her latest work Avistamiento as part of the residency program that will result in a major exhibition in October 2015 at Flora Arts-Natura.
