Artist Spotlight Sale: Mohamed Ben Soltane

It is with great excitement that ArteEast shares an Artist Spotlight interview with Mohamed Ben Soltane, whose work is currently part of our special Artist Spotlight Sale on Artsy.net/arteeast.

 

 

Ben Soltane’s Contre l’Oubli (Hommage à El Mekki) is a mosaic triptych dedicated to the prominent Tunisian painter Hatem El Mekki (1918–2003).

All proceeds from the sale of this work will benefit ArteEast’s programs.

Mohamed Ben Soltane is a visual artist and curator exhibiting his work in Tunisia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Algeria, among other countries. He graduated in 2004 from the High Institute of Fine Art of Tunis (I.S.B.A.T). He worked from 2011 to 2015 as artistic director of one of the leading private art centers in the Maghreb region: B’Chira Art Center. He has been teaching cultural management and art history since 2016 at the High Institute of Fine Arts of Tunis.

Ben Soltane has participated in several national and international exhibitions including the solo show TNS <BCN 03 / Mohamed Ben Soltane, at the Civic Center Fort Pienç in Barcelona, January 2011, A Rosy Future in Berlin and Stuttgart in 2012, the DAAD Gallery, Berlin in 2013, SWAB contemporary art fair in Barcelona in 2016, Art Vancouver, 2019, and Occupational Hazards, at Apexart, New York, in 2019. Ben Soltane is represented by A/Gorgi gallery and Yosr Ben Ammar Gallery.
