Nabil Ahmed

Nabil Ahmed is an artist and researcher whose work investigates environmental conflict and new forums for international jurisdiction through spatial analysis, writing and multimedia projects. Since 2013 he has been investigating the impact of environmental violence and military occupation of West Papua. In 2016 he initiated Inter-Pacific Ring Tribunal (INTERPRT), an interdisciplinary research project and alternative commission for environmental justice. He has participated in the two-year Anthropocene Project at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin, the 2016 Oslo Architecture Triennial, the 3rd Istanbul Design Biennial and numerous other exhibitions. More recently his writings have appeared in art, science and architecture publications such as Third Text, Scientific Reports, Forensis (Sternberg, 2014), Volume, and South Magazine - Documenta 14. Ahmed holds a PhD in Research Architecture from Goldsmiths, University of London where he is a research fellow on the project Forensic Architecture. He is a senior lecturer in Architecture at London Metropolitan University.
