Nadia Christidi

Nadia Christidi is currently a PhD candidate in History, Anthropology, and Science, Technology, and Society at MIT. She holds an MA in Historical Studies from The New School and a BA in History of Art from Bryn Mawr College. Nadia’s research interests include militarized environmental management, political ecology, and American imperialism in the Middle East. Her MA thesis investigated the international animal rescue initiative that followed the devastation of the Baghdad Zoo during the American occupation of Iraq (2003-2011). Nadia previously worked as Assistant Director at Beirut Art Center (2009-2010) and in educational programming at Darat al Funun (2006-2007). She has participated in exhibitions at Beirut Art Center; SALT Galata, Istanbul; and SALT Ulus, Ankara.
